Sukhumvit 24 or Soi 24 in Bangkok is home to a large number of expatriates from all countries but it attracting more Japanese expatriates as newer and more modern apartments are built.
There are a number of expatriate areas in Bangkok, most of which are along Sukhumvit road, but Sukhumvit 24 is one of the largest. due to it's being centrally located and having easy access to other areas of Bangkok via the BTS skytrain.

Sukhumvit 24 in Bangkok can be accessed from Rama 4 road or from Sukhumvit road.
From the Rama 4 end of the road, there is a small Tesco Lotus supermarket
and a BMW show room. It is also the closest end ot the soi to all the shops and restaurants.
The Sukhumvit road entrance is next to The Emporium department store.
Which ever entrance you take, you will find apartment buildings and shops all the way down the road ( soi ) until you get to the other end, but as mentioned above, it is the Rama 4 end of the soi that seems to have its own self contained area of shops and restaurants.

Sukhumvit 24 in Bangkok has a number of shops along its length but there is also a number of quality shops in the surrounding area. One such shop is Villa Supermarket which boasts a huge wine selection on its upper floor. Villa can be found opposite the Emporium on Sukhumvit 33 / 1. Villa supermarket is a good place to find all those nick nack food stuffs you can get at home

Also on Sukhumvit 24, there is a famous seafood restaurant which has a neon banner that lights up at night proclaiming that " If it swims, we have it".
This restaurant is a bit of a novelty and probably not to many people's liking as it is a restaurant / supermarket. The idea is that you shop for your desired seafood item, pay for it like you would in any normal supermarket and then hand it to someone to cook it for you.
This sounds interesting but the issue is, how do you want it cooked and what do you want to have with it ? It is also an expensive palce to eat, so we'd suggest giving this a miss and going to a seafood restaurant that has a menu.
