Bangkok, Thailand is awash with hotels and has some of the best hotels in the world including the world famous Oriental Hotel.

Even though Thailand is probably known for its beach resorts and the excellent quality that they offer, Bangkok still has plenty to offer any budget.

There are many websites offering agent fees for hotels and some of these agents can provide excellent savings and discounts and so rather than trying to compete with these agents, we offer links to them.

However, it is important to think about your stay in Bangkok and the type of hotel you want as well as the area of Bangkok that you want your hotel to be in.

Bangkok hotels by the river are generally more expensive than those set back from the river but at the same time, they are not by any easy means of transportation such as underground or skytrain. and in Bangkok, this can be an issue if you want to get around quickly.

Hotels such as Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, Landmark, Pacific Intercontinental, Grand Hyatt Erawan, Imperial Queens Park and a number of others are all close to underground or skytrain stations and this will save you heaps of time when getting around town.

We suggest you study the maps of Bangkok and study the transportation maps as well as the areas you want to go to and make a choice of hotel based on those issues rather than just picking a hotel that takes your fancy.

Bangkok, as you are probably aware, has terrible traffic jams and avoiding taxi or Tuk Tuk rides can save you a lot of time and will allow you to fit more into your day.

If you are coming to Thailand with your family, you might find it cheaper to stay in a serviced apartment with two or three bedrooms than paying for separate hotel rooms.

If you stay somewhere like Centre Point, you can get a complete apartment for the cost of a single hotel room at the likes of Grand Hyatt Erawan etc.

85 UK pounds per night will get you a two bedroomed, fully furnished apartment with TV, stereo, kitchenette, washing mache etc. It's a much better deal.
