Before we start with the information, we have decided to state here that Central Chidlom has a different pricing structure than its other shops. The prices seem to go up on a regular basis and the prices are, in general, higher than at other Central stores.
Food: excellent food shopping store on ground floor. Good for meats, cheeses, pies and pizzas. They tried a bakery but it doesn't match up to western standards. Good alcohol selection but wines are expensive. Offers many imported goods from UK, Australia and other countries. In my opinion probably the best place for groceries but you'll certainly pay more for the convenience. Food store opens 9.30 with the rest of the store closed until 10.

Clothing:
Men: Certainly a good place to get all your clothing needs if off-the-peg is what you are after. Good and reasonably priced selection of brand name shirts, ties and trousers. Good selection of shoes but I find there is a lot of overly fashionable
shoes and not enough good quality brands although Hush Puppies, Clarks, Ecco, Geox and Timberland are all available.

Women: Simply put, if you can't find it here, you probably can't find it anywhere, although top end, designer specials with a greater selection might be found at The Emporium or Siam Paragon . Good selection of shoes, underwear, swimwear and designer goods. There are often sales and bargains can be found.

Electrical Goods: It has a fairly good electrical department for TVs, mobile phones, MP3 players, home cinema, computers equipment etc but is very poor for Hi-Fi equipment. If you like Hi-Fi and like specialist equipment, this is not the place for you. for Hi-Fi, Click Here,
Central is
very good for clothes and shoes for men and women.
There is usually plenty of parking which is free but get there early as it can fill up quite quickly
There are plenty of ATM / Cash Point machines scattered about the store. with a bank immediately as you enter from the skytrain walk way.

The Loft
The Loft on the top floor has a very good food hall where you can choose from Thai, Indian, Italian, Vietnamese, Chinese and even New Zealand foods. The system is based on handing over a bar coded card and everything you order is credited to your card. You pay at the counter on your way out where they read the amount on your card. Simple, tasty but can get busy and might be considered a little pricey. Large queues possible at lunctimes.
Seating capacity: 500.

The Terrace Restaurant: Situated near women's underwear and swimwear. Bright and airy restaurant serving mainly Thai food. Service is fairly good, food OK but portions a little small. Lunchtime gets very busy with queues forming.
On the ground floor, as part of the supermarket, near the cheese and cold meats counters there is a small eatery called The Food Cellar which is a smaller version of The Loft where you can sit and have some of the same foods as The Loft. It's fast and simple and is there to hellp you get a quick fix when hungry. As with all restaurants in Thailand, it fills up quickly when it approaches lunch time.
The number of seats is fairly limited so get there early.
To make a reservation: 02541 1111 Ext. 3010
3rd Floor: Small restaurant / coffee shop, open to rest of deparment store and divided by an asile of people walking to another section of the store.
Good place for tea, coffee, biscuits or cake but you can get Thai food and some pasta dishes.
4th Floor: Tucked away in a corner is another tea / coffee shop where you can sit down and relax with a cup of tea and some cake. You can also have some Thai food there but it's predominantly a place to rest and quench your thirst.
5th Floor: Fairly new restaurant / coffee shop where you can sit and have coffe or order a meal. It's completely open to the rest of the store and can be found between the bedding section and electrical goods section. Up the escalator and turn right.
Other shopping centres: Emporium, Siam Paragon, Discovery, Siam Centre Central World Plaza, SOGO Robinson, We also have MBK and Chatuchak Market and the failr new Lumpini Night Bazaar |
