By definition, an apartment is private living accommodation within a managed complex, more frequently a tower block, normally wholly owned by one owner, viz: a limited company. Apartments are for rent only. Apartments are often confused with condominiums since condominium units (or condos for short) are privately owned individual apartments within blocks, either rented out privately or occupied by the owner.

There are literally hundreds of apartment buildings in and around Bangkok ranging from truly luxurious to average which will obviously be governed by your budget. Generally they offer various apartment sizes, bedroom layouts, balconies and common areas such as swimming pools, fitness rooms, communal gardens, car parks, and so on. Some are located closer to business or entertainment areas or conveniently situated near transport systems such as the BTS ( Skytrain) , the newly opened MRT Underground system or expressway access points.

Most importantly, apartments offer excellent security by way of 24 hr security guards at the entrances. It is possible for you to leave your apartment in the knowledge your possessions will be safe. This would not always be possible if renting a house for example.
