Bangkok Residents is a website created by expatriates living and working in Bangkok, Thailand. Altogether, we have over 30 + years experience in Thailand and so, to some degree, we know what we are talking about. We say "to some degree" because we don't think it's truly possible to get to know the Thai way without being Thai.

Even with all our experiences we are constantly asking ourselves "why do they do that ?" or "why don't they do this?" but it all boils down to the favourite expat saying of TIT or "This Is Thailand."

All the information within this site is brought to you with the best intentions and every effort has been made to ensure that the information is correct and up-to-date, but we urge you to make your own enquiries to ensure you have the most up-to-date information.

An example that immediately springs to mind is the contrasting information about Wat Traimit, or The Gold Buddha temple. One website states the entry fee is 20 Baht, another website says it is 50 Baht but when we went to check out the prices and take some pictures, we were not charged a thing. This is not to say the other site's are incorrect, it just shows that Thailand isn't very consistent and there is a huge possibility that you will be charged if someone feels they can get away with it.
